What makes a woman sexy? Attitude, the right type of attitude. There is a reason a girl can make a big over-sized jersey and grey sweatpants sexy. It’s that look she gives you, that attitude that says “I’m gorgeous, and I want you.”

If you were not at your office working what would you be doing? Exploring. I love to travel, and not the typical “take an airplane to another city, go out to eat, and look at pictures and art and shit”. I like to go into the world and look around, peek at all of the stuff that isn’t blaring you in the eye. That doesn’t necessarily mean go cave diving either. Take a walk around the city on an unbeaten path (bring a taser). I like to search for substance and meaning in a world that is rapidly commercializing, serializing and becoming more fake and bland with every reality TV show or new hip bar. There is a jungle in my back yard, and I play in it.

Your secret to keeping a girl interested? Be interesting. Its not as hard as it seems. A lot of my guy friends think they constantly have to up the dating game. Fancier restaurants, exclusive clubs, crazy date ideas. One of my friends thought a horse drawn carriage through the city would make this girl melt for him. The problem is that it’s all style, no substance. Unless you are into gold digging dumbasses, a girl is going to see through the facade if you have nothing else to offer. A carriage ride is sweet, romantic, nice, but its not fucking interesting. I like to talk to my girl while I’m driving, explore her mind. People watching can be one of the best ways to get to know the person sitting right next to you. You get the rare opportunity to see what she really thinks, how she judges (I said how not if, we all fucking judge…) and its safe for her because it’s a game and she feels comfortable being frank with you. The bottom line, is you have to be invested in yourself first, before anyone else can find you interesting.

I won’t leave home without… My cell phone. I want to stay connected. I hate when I can’t get a hold of people so I like to spare the rest of the world that feeling (I’m popular, deal with it). Plus, I sound really sexy on the phone (late night chat anyone?)

Favorite game to play? Hmmmm. I know this really cool chick who invented a game…Playing the Field. Of course that one is my favorite! Plus it has saved my ass on quite a few dates - keeps the conversation going on those occasions when my brain quits working.

Favorite sporting event: Soccer and Surfing are a pretty close tie. I love watching two really good soccer teams play each other. Its like a real live chess match (I’m a nerd and a jock… that’s pretty fucking interesting), but the down side is I get bored with it. I’ve been playing soccer since I was 6, so I start to over-analyze the game and watch for weaknesses and shit. It ruins enjoying the spectator part. I love watching really good surfers shred. Jamie O’Brian and Taj Barrow are my two favorite surfers. The only problem about watching surfing is it makes me want to go surf. Then I get sad because I’m just not that good, yet.

If you were stranded on a deserted island, what three things would you take with you? Tungsten Carbide SEAL knife (one of the best survival knifes in the world), Maui Jim Titanium Sport glasses (some of the lightest, most durable sunglasses around), and my surfboard. I can make the rest (I watch way too much Discovery Channel).

What is your biggest pet peeve? Hypocrites and liars. I quit lying - and I’m serious, besides the little white lies to my boss and authority figures, I haven’t lied in about 2 years. It was one of the best things I’ve done for my peace of mind and a drama free life. And I can’t stand hypocritical people. Just typing this up is making me pissed off, next question…

On a Saturday night you will find me… I have no fucking clue. Sometimes at home writing, sometimes wasted in a bar in Atlanta/Clemson/Random College/City, sometimes wandering around outside. It all depends on where I am and who’s around.

How do you break up with someone? I tell them the reason I don’t want to be with them. It’s that simple. I don’t pussy foot around, or make up some lame excuse, or tell the girl I think she is amazing. If the bitch was amazing, I’d probably still be with her. But at the same time, I won’t harp on her either. I’m not out to make someone feel like shit just because I don’t want to date her. So I’m honest but I try to be as tactful as I can. But everyone knows I’m not the best at tact…se la vi

My BFF wins at Valencia Film Festival in Spain

The “Rock On Award” goes out to my BFF Christine this week!!! She just got back from the film festival in Valencia, Spain promoting her new movie, Basra, which won the award for Best Cinematography. Watch out Sundance!

Finding a long-lost boy friend

For those of you who are friends on Facebook you got to experience my shock when I found one of my long lost friends…and my big case of nerves when we discovered we were in the same city and could meet up!

Ten years ago I went to stay with his parents in Salamanca, Spain for my big 3-ohh. I wanted to be on a different continent for my birthday, he told me that I couldn’t go to Paris (my first choice) unless I was going there with my lover and I knew if I waited around for friends to go on a trip with me it would never happen. So I took off to Spain by myself.

Granted he called and checked up on me every day, translated conversations between his parents and me and set up the most incredible events - horseback riding at his Grandmother’s farm, a mock bullfight for my birthday, tours with friends, day trips to towns in the countryside - the royal princess treatment. Two weeks of total and complete bliss.

Then I came home to Manhattan and reality. We lost touch.

That was ten years ago. For the past five years he has been in the back of my mind. Driving me crazy actually. How do you track down someone who lives in a different country, has a pretty common name (hey - there are 4 famous Amanda Browns - so much for having a unique name!) and you have no clue if he is here or on the other side of the world? (He has a tendency to spend half the year here and the other half there.)

We were both in shock when the message that I sent to 3 guys with his name made it to the right one!

Last night we saw each other for the first time in a decade. My Spaniard and his Julia Roberts (our description of each other for friends).

My group of friends got to witness it all. I had already planned on being at Eclipse de Luna - funny, but we used to hang out there and dance way back when - so I figured it would be a great place to start tripping through the memories. Described him in detail to a friend before actually seeing him - and was told later that my description was right on point. Neither one of us had aged in the horrific way that a lot of people do - no 50 pounds of pudge, bald spots or gray hair (of course I have no intention of that happening to me anyway).

I had the biggest smile on my face all night long. I talked a lot. Listened to his wonderfully, sexy accent like it was music coming across the radio waves. Then floated home on cloud 9.

Right before I went to sleep I got the text that our conversation gave him chills - guess he never knew how much of an effect he had on my life.

It’s funny how much we have changed, but at the same time haven’t. And how much we don’t know about each other but get to learn all over again.

Moral of the story - get on Facebook and rekindle your old friendships! Mark Zuckerberg - thank you!

there’s a Chill in the Air, it’s time to Cuddle iPod playlist

Music taste are a bit different when there is a chill in the air…not quite the Hawaiian fruity cocktail drink type of music but more of the bold, deep Cabernet while lounging around the fireplace type of tunes.

Time to switch up the iPod and create a new playlist. You comment with your favorite Chill & Cuddle songs and I’ll add them to the list. By the end of it we should have our list of favorite romantic love songs!

My Fun Day of filming at the Petite LeMans

Thanks to my buddy at Road Atlanta I was given permission to go “behind the scenes” at the Petite LeMans and talk to the drivers. Talk about getting a ticket to the ultimate day of fun. I know, strange coming from a cosmo chick, but there’s something about being around fast, loud, rumbling cars and hot, sexy, sweaty men that is an absolute turn on for me.
