For those of you who are friends on Facebook you got to experience my shock when I found one of my long lost friends…and my big case of nerves when we discovered we were in the same city and could meet up!
Ten years ago I went to stay with his parents in Salamanca, Spain for my big 3-ohh. I wanted to be on a different continent for my birthday, he told me that I couldn’t go to Paris (my first choice) unless I was going there with my lover and I knew if I waited around for friends to go on a trip with me it would never happen. So I took off to Spain by myself.
Thanks to my buddy at Road Atlanta I was given permission to go “behind the scenes” at the Petite LeMans and talk to the drivers. Talk about getting a ticket to the ultimate day of fun. I know, strange coming from a cosmo chick, but there’s something about being around fast, loud, rumbling cars and hot, sexy, sweaty men that is an absolute turn on for me.
This was possibly the most entertaining interview of the day….I actually got to get inside the race car. My childhood fantasy! I was the inquisitive little girl who wanted to be a jockey, a race car driver and a model when I grew up. Needless to say I was not the one playing with Barbie dolls. Thank you Darren for helping me get one step closer!
Not only am I a complete sucker for a guy with a great accent, but add some humor to it too and for me that is better than a day at Saks with an unlimited credit card. We laughed more during this interview than is actually shown…still waiting for my guys to edit it down to the funny & flirting shots!
Hell yeah baby! Got to interview the infamous Johnny O’Connell - name a driving record and he has it covered. Tell me we redheads don’t have it going on!
Amanda Brown with Relation-ary & RealTVFilms interviewing Johnny O’Connell at the Petite LeMans
A Porsche lover here getting to interview one of the lucky guys who drives them out there on the track! I wonder if he is related to the Paul Miller who used to race for Porsche years ago? I’ll have to put my reporter cap on and track that down!
“It’s an odd thing, but anyone who disappears is said to be seen in San Francisco. It must be a delightful city and possess all the attractions of the next world” -Oscar Wilde
I did disappear. A nice reprieve, a morning to sleep in late and take it easy before spending the day wandering and the evening at drinks and dinner meetings.
One hour. One suitcase. One big explosion of clothes, shoes (always too many shoes), and games. Whew! After dealing with that amazing feat of puzzlery it’s time for a drink!
I always hate leaving…especially after a week like this past one, but during lunch I got a text that made going to the airport so much more fun - meeting Steveo at the airport bar before we took off and different directions. I think now I can officially be included in the official jet setters directory.
In the flurry of getting dropped off at Virgin Atlantic instead of Virgin America and Brandon driving back around...
